Mamta – a school running for the mentally impaired children is a permanent project of Rotary Surat Riverside. But even before we adopted the school in 2002-03, we were in touch with the administrators of the institution and our members / anns / friends would often contribute in cash or kind for the well being of the lesser fortunate children.

During such interactions, we identified the need for a channel to ‘flawlessly’ impart knowledge along with entertainment for the children of MAMTA. Upon discussing with the administrators, it was concluded that an overhead projector would be the perfect gift to spice up the learning programs of the children.

Thus, in 1997-98, an overhead projector was presented to MAMTA as an Audio-Visual aid for Mentally Handicapped Children and a donation was also made by our then DG Dr. Manoj Desai.

We also participated with ASHA VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE by buying Greeting Cards screen printed by Physically Handicapped children.
